The Global Mobility, Immigration and Benefit Policy Sr. Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's global mobility programs and immigration processes. This role ensures compliance with immigration laws and regulations, facilitates employee relocations, and supports the company's talent acquisition and retention strategies. You will also oversee the development and implementation of benefit policies that support the company's strategic goals and enhance employee satisfaction.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Global Mobility Management:

  • Develop and manage global mobility programs: Create and oversee programs that facilitate the movement of employees across different countries, including long-term expatriate assignments, short-term relocations, and business travel.

  • Ensure compliance with international tax, immigration, and employment laws: Monitor and adhere to legal requirements in various countries to avoid legal issues and ensure smooth operations.

  • Partner with HR, legal, and finance teams: Collaborate with different departments to align mobility processes with company policies and ensure seamless execution.

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers: Offer advice and assistance to employees and their managers on matters related to international assignments and relocations.

Immigration Management:

  • Oversee immigration processes: Manage the entire process of obtaining visas, work permits, and residency permits for employees moving to different countries.

  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws: Keep track of any changes in immigration regulations and ensure the company remains compliant.

  • Liaise with external immigration consultants and legal advisors: Work with external experts to handle complex immigration cases and ensure accurate processing.

  • Support employees and their families: Assist employees and their families through the immigration process, providing necessary information and resources.

Benefit Policy Development:

  • Design and implement competitive benefit policies: Create benefit programs that attract and retain talent, aligning with the company's strategic goals.

  • Conduct regular reviews and benchmarking: Periodically evaluate benefit programs against industry standards to ensure they remain competitive.

  • Communicate benefit policies to employees: Effectively inform employees about available benefits and how to utilize them.

  • Develop and execute strategic plans: Create long-term plans for global mobility, immigration, and benefits that align with the company's objectives.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in HR, global mobility, immigration, and benefits management.

  • Strong knowledge of international tax, immigration, employment laws and regulations.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems.
