How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Operations Analytics (OA) organization provides analytical support across all major operational areas of the company. This Sr. Data Analyst position is part of the Operations Analytics organization’s Tech Ops (TOP) Resource Planning team, which performs analysis of key operational and strategic staffing metrics to support operational and financial performance. Some examples of projects include:
Development of predicative models and forecasts to proactively communicate required TOP staffing need in coordination with several cross-functional TOP departments
Analysis of resource utilization and identification of more optimal/efficient solutions
Reporting associated with the implementation of resource planning initiatives
Analysis of current trends in TOP resource planning
The Sr. Data Analyst will be expected to be able to accomplish the following types of specific tasks to complete the above projects:
Locate and extract data from a variety of sources for use in analysis, models and project development
Locate and develop new data sources and/or basic analytical models and projects
Aggregate views of data sources into meaningful hierarchies
Develop complex reports and analyses with direction from leaders
Support complex process improvement and project management engagements for both individual business units and cross-divisional initiatives
Present findings to Operations Analytics and business unit leaders, including senior executives
Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
SQL, SAS, Python, R, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint
Statistical analysis and modeling including Linear Regression, Segmentation, non-linear predictive (e.g. logistic) regression and machine learning
Must be comfortable working in group and individual settings and frequently presenting to leaders.
Track record of seeking leadership roles including student and community organizations. 3+ years of experience in analysis, information science, data visualization, or other relevant quantitative field required.
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Business/Management, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics or other relevant quantitative field required and 3+ years of experience in analysis, information science, data visualization, or another relevant field.
Previous airline experience preferred.
Previous Tech Ops (TOP) experience preferred.
