How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Contract Manager - Commercial Transactions will support the Commercial & IP Transactions Team within Delta Air Lines’ Law Department. The Law Department provides centralized legal services and support for Delta and its affiliates and subsidiaries worldwide. This role will manage contract flow between the Commercial Transactions Team and Delta’s business partners across all divisions. Core responsibilities include reviewing and advising on contracts, maintaining standard contract templates and supporting cross-functional operations projects. The successful candidate will be part of a team of legal professionals with a mission to deliver top-quality and cost-conscious legal solutions to business issues, while leveraging technology to increase efficiency.

This position is in-person and based in the Atlanta office. This is not a remote opportunity.

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

  • With attorney supervision, review, assess, comment on, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including non-disclosure, procurement, marketing, sponsorship and technology agreements.

  • Serve as a liaison between the Law Department and other internal stakeholders, including Supply Chain Management and Delta’s business partners.

  • Develop and maintain contract templates, contract provisions, and related training materials, such as playbooks.

  • Manage overall contracting pipeline, workflow and efforts to update Delta contracts and contract templates, when necessary.

  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, including automation, devise plans to implement those changes, and execute applicable plans.

  • Fact gathering in connection with pre-litigation dispute resolution.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • At least 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department

  • Experience in an in-house legal department is preferred

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of legal terminology

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to follow through

  • Independent worker with strong time management, communication, and organization skills

  • Problem solver with demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to develop creative solutions and work collaboratively

  • Quick study, with ability to work quickly and competently to prioritize, manage, multi-task, and succeed in a fast-paced working environment

  • Demonstrate Delta core values of integrity, respect, and perseverance

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

  • Prior aviation industry experience

  • Prior technology transactions experience
