The AIG Global Security team is focused on Physical Security, Security Operations, Executive Protection, and Investigations. The Security Operations Team maintains a global presence and is strategically located in key markets. The Team is responsible for all security measures and procedures throughout the Company’s portfolio. Focus areas are physical security compliance, travel risk management, investigations, security incident management, event security, and systems design and training.
How you will create an impact
Energetically drive change and manage day-to-day administrative responsibilities (e.g., databases, reporting, metrics) with a high degree of accuracy amidst constricting deadlines.
Promote the entire department primarily to our internal clients (Enterprise Resiliency, Corporate Travel, HR/ER, AIG business units) via technical proficiency of all AIG security programs, products, and services, and sound application of global risk mitigation. Facilitate synergies across these functional and business areas.
Possess complete working knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities of AIG’s enterprise security technology systems, including physical access control, security video, and intrusion systems.
Develop and maintain subject matter expertise regarding regional and local laws and practices that may affect AIG people, property and/or business.
Mitigate risks, support security projects / initiatives, and proactively plan for / respond to security incidents as well as other events that may affect AIG people, property and/or business (e.g., natural disasters).
Support AIG travelers, to include senior level executives and clients, and corporate events as needed throughout area of responsibility.
Conduct thorough investigations promptly and in accordance with Global Security investigative standards.
Analyze regional/location specific investigative trends in order to reduce the occurrence and impact of future losses, employee concerns, and incidents.
Provide sound guidance to team members, travelers, and executives.
Continue to build upon strategic business partnerships – prove the value add in each city/locale, etc.
Develop and maintain solid relationships with government agencies, security industry contacts, professional organizations, and vendors.
Continue the remediation of findings identified in previous Security Audits and conduct Security Audits for additional locations within the region.
Implement greater standardization of existing and future policies and procedures as communicated by AIG Global Security that are consistent with, or superseded by, more stringent local laws and implementation needs for the existing Company locations as well as leased or owned locations under consideration.
Develop and maintain a security plan and budget to support the needs of the region, consistent with direction provided by the business, regional management, and AIG Global Security.
Assist with tasks and security matters in other areas of the Americas, including Latin America, to support team members
What you will need to succeed
5+ years of proven security management experience preferably with a multi-national financial services organization.
A strong track record of regional security management within a corporate security or police/law enforcement environment.
Strong security technology project management skills (e.g., access control, video, intrusion) and institutional knowledge of security technology platforms.
Knowledge of regional laws and practices relating to security.
Extensive experience in guard-force management.
As the face of the department, it is important for the Operations Team to maintain a professional, polished appearance and embody a command presence that instills confidence in AIG leadership and colleagues.
Top-level communication skills – verbal and written.
Established network of government and corporate security professionals.
Strong conflict management and people skills.
A high-level knowledge base of security investigations and using data to support case work.
Detail orientated with strong organizational and administrative skills.
Effective decision making and problem-solving skills.
Strong capabilities for data entry and analysis as well as utilizing data points to create clear and meaningful presentations and written documents.
Software skills: Power BI, Salesforce, Microsoft suite, and SAP.
Capable of efficient and organized multitasking with the ability to work under time constraints, meeting deadlines.
Travel (domestic and international) and extended work hours may be required from time to time.
Skills / Experience that will set you apart
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Military veterans / former law enforcement
Bilingual English/Spanish
Knowledge of security environment in Latin America
A strong track record of regional security management within a corporate security or police/law enforcement environment.
