Home Depot Senior Data Analyst, Compliance Effectiveness in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Purpose:

The Compliance Program Effectiveness (CPE) team serves as a strategic and innovative partner to The Home Depot's internal teams working in high risk compliance areas. The CPE Sr. Data Analyst is responsible for executing data-intensive compliance risk assessment projects and developing data analytics and monitoring to support internal consulting efforts. The CPE Sr. Data Analyst will collaborate with team members and stakeholders across the organization to complete compliance assessments and identify innovative ways to measure compliance effectiveness. The CPE Sr. Data Analyst will build and maintain data analytics processes and dashboards dedicated to each compliance assessment that will be used for continuous monitoring of risk area, regulatory area and overall compliance. The individual must possess strong communication and data mining skills, and be familiar with the programming tools, statistical software and technology used by the CPE team (e.g., SQL, Tableau, R, Python). Responsibilities also include supporting the Manager and Sr. Manager with continuous development and improvement of the overall Compliance Effectiveness assessment program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 20% - Professional Development - Seeks further knowledge on key developments and trends within compliance and relevant regulations. Leverages available resources and training to advance risk assessment, data analytics, interpersonal and presentation skills. Builds relationships with internal and cross-functional teams to develop trust and mutual understanding.

  • 80% - Project Execution and Process Improvement - Participates in the continuous improvement of CPE assessments and program by communicating possible improvements and potential solutions for identified issues. Documents organized and detailed data analyses for compliance risk assessments. Creates sophisticated data collection plans; identify sources of data (operational, financial, industry, etc.); gather, analyze and manipulate data; review data for misconduct or risk trends and communicate exceptions. Reviews data for misconduct or risk trends and communicates exceptions. Develops and maintains advanced data mining, reporting capabilities and repetitive analytics to support the CPE team. Collaborates with CPE team and business partners to execute specified segments of compliance risk assessments; understands objectives, identifies risks, meets deadlines, communicates results/status updates and presents deliverables. Utilizes robotics to automate compliance data analytics and create dashboards/data visualizations for ongoing monitoring.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

  • Must past drug test and background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience

  • Experience with data analytics/visualization tools and communicating analysis (SQL, Google BigQuery, Tableau, programming language (R, Python, or SAS))

  • Experience with innovative technologies like RPA, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence

  • Ability to work independently and complete work on schedule within a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with team and cross-functional business partners

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and research skills
