Mission :

The SAP Developer is responsible for the support, development and implementation of SAP R/3, ECC 6.0, Hana, and NetWeaver based solutions at GPI. In addition to development, this role may also participate in other project activities including testing, documentation, and user training. The developer must work independently or with IT analysts to define work tasks and provide estimates. He/She may be asked to serve as a mentor or information resource for the staff on technologies within their area of expertise.

This job requires a solid background and skill set in SAP technology solutions and experience in the successful design, delivery and support of SAP business applications. In this position, the developer will work to understand business requirements and will translate those requirements into a high-quality, reliable and efficient ABAP design and solution. This role must keep current on SAP development trends, such as new technologies, development approaches, etc. The role has continued to expand as new systems have been added and interfaces back to SAP are required. The developer must understand the new systems technology and resulting interfaces.

Essential Job Functions:

The SAP Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the following functions:

  • Code SAP modules and complex functions

  • Create specialized reports using SAP ABAP programming language

  • Design forms and output for SAP modules using SAP script and Smart Forms

  • Troubleshoot and correct SAP module problems by using ABAP programming language to implement OSS notes

  • Modify system screens to provide default values and eliminate unnecessary fields using transaction variants

  • Interface with business analysts to ensure the proper integration of business processes and procedures to information technology

  • Assist in defining technical requirements for on-going systems maintenance and future functionality

  • Carry out testing for all phase and coordinating with business for UAT and issue resolution

  • Participate and execute cutover as per need

  • Post implementation hyper care support and provide training

  • Perform analysis of build business issues and identify issue resolution

  • Work on change request and enhancements

  • Documentation as per approved template for all phases of projects

  • Develop knowledge base for SAP knowledge database

  • Define, build, maintain, and enhance interfaces to different technologies and systems outside of SAP

  • Other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements:

Background / Experience:

4-year college degree in general or IT-Related field preferred. Equivalent work experience considered.

Specialized or technical knowledge:

  • 2+ years development experience including 2+ years in SAP development. Experience in both implementation and application support is desired.

  • Must have experience with and ability to use ABAP development objects including: Dialog programming, User-exits, BADI's, Smart Forms and/or Adobe Forms, ALV, BAPIs, RFCs, and other SAP development tools.

  • Experience with design and development of Workflow applications.

  • Knowledge of SAP Fiori required

  • Demonstrated experience in development work in at least one other non-ECC system: BI/BW, CRM, HCM a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing in at least two SAP ECC modules: FI-CO, SD, MM, PP, PM, WM required

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of data flow and integration across modules inside SAP ECC and between SAP ECC and other SAP systems: BI/BW, CRM, HCM.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Must be able to work individually or with a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Must understand the software development life cycle and be able to perform systems analysis and design activities in accordance with development methodology and institute best practices and appropriate standards

  • Hands on implementation experience in SAP ABAP programming and the cross-function relationship between modules for forms, reports, interfaces, enhancements, BDC, LSMW, BADI, BAPI, workflow and other development work

  • Principles and techniques of systems analysis, design and testing

  • Principles of program documentation

  • Principles of report, screen, and form design

  • Good knowledge of preparing technical specification and to be able to coordinate with functional team for development activities

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Understanding of interface and IDOCs

  • Demonstrated experience in developing web services/WSDL

  • Demonstrated experience in developing interfaces to and from SAP and non-SAP systems such TMS, SFDC, etc..

  • Strong knowledge of SAP Transport layers

  • Strong experience in the different kinds of Transport Request and SAP best practices in handling transports

  • Very strong debugging skills to identify and resolve deep seated technical issues including system debugging

  • Exposure/Experience in the new technologies of ABAP such as Web Dynpro development is highly desired

  • Exposure/Experience in SAP ALE highly desired

Other Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of business operations and best industry practices in a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated perceptual and analytical thinking

  • Exposure to a global working environment

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to translate technical information into language non-technical people will understand

  • Ability to identify deficiencies in technical work and implementation plans, and to identify schedule conflicts

  • Fortitude to demand excellence from self and others

  • Tenacity to set and achieve complex objectives from multiple teams in order to meet business objective, and to effectively manage cross-functional resources

  • Ability to directly interact with GPI Customer base as needed for project definition and resourcing

  • Hands on experience in developing custom solutions in RF technologies preferred

  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct Object Oriented Programing a plus.

  • Understanding of coding and initialization of SAP Web Service Calls desired.

  • Understanding and utilization of ODATA services a plus.

Pay Range: $69,825.00 - $93,135.00
