How you will create an impact
The Quality Assurance Senior Manager leads a team of quality analysts responsible for testing the quality of underwriting transactions, with a primary focus on ensuring the accuracy of premium coding relied upon by the Financial Controls Unit (FCU)/SOX team.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with FCU/SOX and Controls teams to design, challenge, and execute QA strategies and methodologies for underwriting transactions, tailored to product line process design, system design, and risk landscape (e.g., premium volume).
Collaborate with the FCU/SOX team to align sampling and testing procedures within SOX compliance requirements.
Act as the Control Owner for initiating and managing the premium coding testing program and other related financial controls to complete all work within required deadlines, including all duties required by Control Owners.
Monitor premium regression reports and work with process owners to remediate any exceptions within SLA requirements (not part of Martha’s current role, but should be centralized in future org design).
Collaborate with COO and process owner teams to schedule process walkthroughs, collect policy documentation, triage requests, and investigate discrepancies.
Manage a team of QA specialists, providing guidance and performance feedback.
Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities in underwriting processes and provide feedback to process and system owners.
Act as representative for the business to centrally support ad-hoc requests from external auditors, FCU/SOX teams regarding underwriting processes and controls.
Create and maintain capabilities and workflow to maintain documentation for QA procedures and test results, through Sharepoint and other tools .
Report testing results and findings to senior management and stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
8+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in insurance or financial services
Strong knowledge of underwriting processes, insurance policy/binder terms and definitions, and premium coding practices
Familiarity with SOX compliance and financial controls
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, with ability to interact with senior leaders across multiple product lines
