The Opportunity:

  • Work with the nation’s leading public health experts supporting CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)

  • Collaborate with a diverse team of epidemiologists, public health analysts, data analysts, and infection preventionists

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to written inquiries, provide surveillance system user support regarding data analysis and interpretation.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical assistance in response to NHSN users inquiries related to HAI and HAC data analysis and provide user support regarding SIRs and SIR calculations.

  • Assist in the review of study data for data quality and validation

  • Leads/assists in data cleaning projects to improve the quality of data systems

  • Prepare and present educational trainings about NHSN to professional organizations and governmental bodies at national, state and local levels

  • Participate, as requested, in special studies or projects.

  • Provide level 2/3 help desk support to address NHSN analysis issues.

  • Develop and maintain NHSN analysis materials to be hosted on the NHSN website.

  • Coordinate on an ongoing and daily basis with contracted personnel from other vendors performing similar work in support of NHSN.

  • Communicate directly with Surveillance Branch leadership.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master level degree in Public Health

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US security clearance

  • 3-5 years of Public Health Experience (CDC or State Health Department)

  • Excellent communications skills; great attention to details

  • General knowledge of public health data analysis needs and techniques

  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SAS, etc. – ability to write SAS code and use in a working context)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

  • Proficient using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).

  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$52,300-$107,200
