The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time psychologist with experience working with patients across the lifespan, including adolescents and families struggling with addiction-related concerns to join its outpatient faculty, open academic rank. Applications will be reviewed beginning immediately and will be accepted and reviewed until the position is filled. As part of the growing Addiction Services/Addiction Alliance of Georgia at Emory Healthcare, this position will offer the opportunity to participate in clinical care, education, and research.
Primary roles include (1) provision of patient care, (2) supervision and teaching within the addiction psychiatry fellowship and psychology training programs, (3) participation in research or quality improvement, and (4) engagement inteam-based care. Clinical care will involve brief assessments and psychotherapy (individual, family, group, or couples) for minors and adults with substance use disorders and other co-occurring mental health conditions based at the Emory Addiction Center at Wesley Woods Hospital.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicants must have a doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited graduate program, an APA accredited internship, and at least one-year supervised postdoctoral training. They must be licensed or license eligible in Georgia. The successful candidate will have established areas of emphasis in treatment of substance use disorders, as well as distinct areas of focus that would provide needed clinical services (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based interventions). Applicants must have a strong background in patient care, supervision and teaching, research or quality improvement, and team-based care.
