The Program Coordinator duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.

  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.

  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.

  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.

  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.

  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.

  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.

  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups. May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program.

  • Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

The Department of Theater and Dance seeks an organized, proactive, and creative individual to join the staff of the Theater Studies program, which functions in close association with other academic units on campus, including Theater Emory.

Ideal candidates will have an active, problem-solving working style, and a background in Theater or other arts. Candidates may include with their application a cover letter that describes how skills and experience match the position requirements and preferences below; work samples are welcome.

This position reports to the Academic Department Administrator, supervises student workers, and coordinates with other units, and requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow through on projects without direct supervision.

This is not an administrative support position.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Commitment to fostering a welcoming and productive environment across a diverse community of faculty, staff,students, prospective students, and alumni.

  • Work closely with Academic Department Administrator to support strategic programs and initiatives.

  • Plan and execute department events including interest meetings, panels, workshops, town halls, alumni events, celebrations, department meetings, committee meetings, and other events as required.

  • Assist with faculty onboarding and complete travel booking for faculty or staff as required. Assist in the creation of departmental marketing materials and manage department communications, including website and social media content, newsletters, correspondence with faculty, students and alumni, and community outreach.

  • Manage search, hiring and onboarding of Federal Work Study and student workers. Assist with advising newly declared majors/minors, prospective students. Assist with student registration including management and assignment of permission numbers.

  • Lead student recruitment efforts and host prospective student visits. Collaborate with the college arts admissions team and manage the arts supplement process including soliciting and submitting ratings by the required deadlines.

  • Manage departmental finances including processing expense reports, payment requests, journal transfers, deposits, and creating annual reports using Compass, Emory Business Intelligence, and Emory Express.

  • Manage the general upkeep of departmental facilities, classrooms, offices, and the main office by ordering supplies, submitting work requests, overseeing technological needs to ensure functionality and cleanliness.

  • Process room reservation requests and supervise room use. Learn and take initiative to adopt and tutor fellow faculty and staff on new technologies as required by job function or college protocol.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
