Atlanta International School MVP Physical and Health Education Teacher in Atlanta, Georgia

[Make a positive contribution to the collaborative culture of the Physical Education and broader Secondary School teams. Construct learning experiences that challenge students, support the diversity of learners in each classroom, and demonstrate a strong commitment to concept-based teaching and learning. Design and implement lessons that promote the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes that will contribute to a students balanced and healthy lifestyle. Lead an advisory group of students in a specified grade level. This includes enthusiastic participation in an annual week long trip. Ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant and appropriate feedback to students on formative and summative assessments. Demonstrate effective classroom management that shows an understanding of the academic, social and emotional dimensions of learning. Keep parents informed about the learning of their children and be proactive in communication with parents. Supervise Personal Projects and/or Extended Essays as part of the International Baccalaureate Program.

[Requires a bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in education, physical education, exercise science, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years of experience performing criterion referenced assessments and reporting. Also requires 2 years of experience performing concept based teaching. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
