is seeking innovative, passionate Math Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year
who possess an unwavering commitment to our mission and the willingness to go above & beyond to meet the needs of students, families and staff. Please note that while this is a middle-school-level opening, our instructional scope begins with Kindergarten level material. The math teacher should expect to deliver targeted instruction in foundational skills using Primary Singapore Math curriculum. Most Fugees Academy students begin middle school performing well below grade level; our double-blocked math classes are a critical part of helping them build the necessary skills to reach grade level by the time they begin high school. The math teacher will be part of a team that is committed to learning and growing together through a process of collaboration and coaching.
Required Education, Qualifications and Experience:
Preferred 2 years of full-time classroom teaching experience, preferably in an urban setting
Outstanding instructional skills, including the ability to motivate and challenge students
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a warm, strict, orderly classroom environment
A strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement and believe that all students can achieve
A belief that building deep, authentic relationships with students and families is a priority
Citizenship, residency or work VISA in the United States required
Experience with Singapore Math preferred but not required
GaPSC Certification preferred but not required
Previous experience working with English Learners is a plus
