Job Summary
The Leadership Communications Specialist acts as a strategic partner and advisor to company leaders, enhancing their engagement across the business and service territory. Reporting to the Stakeholder Engagement Communications Manager, this role involves crafting detailed briefing documents, coordinating event logistics, and managing sponsorship deliverables for senior-leader events.
The ideal candidate is an excellent writer with proven ability to interact, inform and influence senior leaders on impactful messaging and engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop written communications on behalf of company leaders, including emails, social media posts, video scripts, speeches, and other materials.
Create and manage detailed briefing documents for senior-leader events, coordinating logistics and talking points with business partners and subject matter experts.
Attend and provide on-site support for executive engagements, potentially during evenings or weekends, serving as a point of contact for company leaders.
Assist the Manager of Stakeholder Engagement Communications with CEO and company-wide employee events or broadcasts (e.g., town halls, CEO updates), including content creation, coordination with company locations, and more.
Prepare company leaders and executives for events and video tapings, including script preparation, fostering reviews, and obtaining necessary approvals.
Requirements:
5-8 years in corporate communication, media or executive consulting.
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations.
Experience in the electric utility industry is a plus.
Proven experience writing for executives, with samples.
Expertise in managing senior-leader engagements and events.
Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-first attitude.
Ability to interact with and influence executives.
Skilled in planning and executing large and small-scale events.
Commitment to superior performance and safe work practices.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Collaborative team player with strong organizational and editorial skills.
Takes initiative, ownership of assignments and personal responsibility.
Willingness and ability to travel.
