Position Summary
This position manages and designs the financial models, metrics, and targets for Specialty Value Based Contracts (VBC). The role will use Actuarial modeling to understand the value created and the amount of risk associated with various financial adjustments to support the development of new models and to communicate the potential value and risk to senior leadership and help to negotiate appropriate targets and measures with external vendors. The role will develop the strategy for expansion of existing VBC models to new partners and geographies. This role will oversee a broad range of key business elements and lead high impact projects to analyze and improve our VBC position in the market, drive business growth through new and innovative VBC arrangements, and collaborate with various business units and levels of leadership both internal and external.
What you will do
· Oversees actuarial analysis to assess and manage risks associated with insurance and financial products.
· Designs protocols and procedures for analyzing large datasets, applying statistical models, and utilizing actuarial techniques to evaluate risk exposure, pricing structures, and financial projections.
· Directs strategic decision-making related to actuarial insights and recommendations to inform business strategies, pricing strategies, product development initiatives, risk management approaches, and market expansion opportunities.
· Stays up to date with regulations to ensure compliance with Actuarial regulations and standards, working closely with internal teams to ensure strict adherence to work area guidelines.
· Manages and develops a team of actuaries which includes hiring and training, setting performance goals, providing coaching and mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
· Develop and implement new Specialty Value-based care models and engages with external vendors to negotiate Value Based contract terms.
· Creates financial performance presentations with actuarial data and reports key findings to support key decision-making stakeholders.
· Participates in strategic discussions and collaborates with various departments to align actuarial strategies with overall business objectives.
· Actively pursues continuous learning opportunities, participates in actuarial organizations, and contributes to the professional development of the organization.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree along with 10+ years of actuarial or related experience
· Strong Communication skills
· Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
· Strong Analytic skills
Preferred Qualifications

· Ability to communicate effectively with all levels
· Ability to remain flexible with ever changing priorities
· Strong collaboration skills working across various teams

· ASA or FSA designation
Education
· Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
