Your New Job:

The Jamf Architect (Principal Engineer) role is a key member of the team that is responsible for ensuring a frictionless user experience while meeting security standards. The role of the Principal Engineer is to proactively guide the design, build, and implementation of solutions to meet Workplace Technologies business needs related to Apple endpoints. This Engineer will work closely with multiple internal stakeholders to design and improve automation solutions required for corporate and production use. This individual will provide guidance to other junior and senior engineers.

Your Role Accountabilities:

Operations and Administration (60%)

  • Provides backend configuration, maintenance and support for workstation and mobile services and security applications including but not limited to Jamf, Jamf Connect, Apple Enterprise Services and Apple ABM.

  • Plans detailed requirements for new and changing infrastructure services

  • Builds and test pilot versions for new and changing services

  • Creates solution documentation

  • Provides senior technical troubleshooting incident and problem resolution for endpoint services platform offerings

Security and Partnerships (20%)

  • Manages overall security frameworks and practices as they pertain to desktop services and integrated technologies such as VPN, Antivirus, etc.

  • Maintain appropriate balance with security and usability, including working with teams to adjust appropriate policies.

  • Partners with client and portfolio owners to assist with technology implementation initiatives across business services

Leadership and Learning (20%)

  • Actively stay up to date on the latest technologies and solutions, including internal/external learning and research.

  • Create endpoint reports for stakeholders as requested.

  • Evaluate advanced requests for feasibility and provide appropriate guidance.

  • Provide coordination for architecture of systems, including providing feedback on project requests and timing.

Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in administering Jamf, Intune, or other MDM solutions for Mac endpoints

  • 5+ years' experience in identity and access management or security engineering

  • Advanced scripting knowledge (bash, python, etc.)

  • Experience dealing with security incidents

  • Experience resolving outages (bonus for leading outage calls)

  • Ability to prioritize based on criticality

  • Comfortable with autonomy based on time zone

  • English proficiency required

The Nice to Haves

  • Degree in Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and occupational experience

  • Knowledge of and passion for technology

  • Comfortable in working in highly iterative and somewhat unstructured environment
