Jacobs Highway Engineering Intern - Summer 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia

Based in Atlanta, Georgia you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects and utilize your classroom gained knowledge to contribute to the design of highway/roadway transportation related projects. You’ll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business. We want you to be empowered to deliver the boldest solutions for everyday living.

What you will do:

  • Support a variety of technical teams in the delivery of quality services, to include engineering design, environmental, quality, and project controls on a mega-design-build transportation project by:

  • Utilizing CADD to prepare various engineering drawings, layouts, and/or models to communicate project details in accordance with established standards and procedures;

  • Participating in project meetings;

  • Complete assignments as assigned (prepare calculations, reports, etc)

  • Assist in providing technical and operational support for exposure to:

  • Highway engineering principles, standards, and practices;

  • Project Delivery for key clients (including the design, environmental, and procurement processes);

  • Various Related Highway Disciplines (Stormwater management, green infrastructure, utilities, structures, etc).

  • Participate in Jacobs’ summer intern program to grow your professional network.

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program;

  • Must be at least a rising Junior

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, pptx)

  • Ability to work with a diverse and integrated team

  • Good written, listening and verbal communication skills and ability to be able to communicate with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and curiosity to complete assignments on time

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • 3.0 GPA;

  • Interest in Highway projects
