Overview

Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. TSS is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation, an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Tanaq native community and shareholders.

About the Role

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to support the financial aspects of grants management projects, ensuring accurate reporting, audit readiness, and compliance with federal regulations.

This is a fully remote position based in Atlanta, GA or anywhere in the U.S. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data related to grants and develop models to support business decisions.

  • Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.

  • Monitor project budgets and track financial performance against targets per the Statement of Work (SOW).

  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for mitigation.

  • Conduct continuous monitoring of post-award recipient management to assess financial stability and compliance.

  • Ensure discrete accounting of grant income and expenditures by grant, avoiding the co-mingling of funds.

  • Build and implement risk-based financial monitoring models tailored to program requirements.

  • Facilitate corrective action planning and track remedial actions when noncompliance is identified.

  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure financial goals are met.

  • Assist in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

  • Support audits and financial reviews as needed, including assessing and mitigating risks of improper fund usage.

  • Conduct closeout of grant awards, ensuring proper reconciliation with accounting records and timely return of residual program income or interest.

  • Communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis or related fields.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools such as Excel.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Work experience in a US Federal Government agency is preferred.

  • Experience with financial software and systems such as SAP or Oracle.

  • Knowledge of federal financial regulations and guidelines.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
