Distribution Support Supervisor, Technology Applications - Atlanta, GA

JOB SUMMARY:

This Distribution Technology Applications Supervisor is responsible for leading a strong group of employees who develop and support multiple distribution technology applications, data, and analytics used by distribution. The applications include some vendor and some homegrown technology and tools managed by subject matter experts. Some of these technologies are:

ARMS – Automated Resource Management System – Crew resource management, scheduling, work management

JETS – Job Estimating and Tracking System – finance tool for estimating distribution customer jobs

OFS – Oracle Field Services – used jointly with ARMS by some customers

RAMP – Reliability Data and Analysis Tool

SPEAR – Storm Prediction Tool

Power Delivery Technology Team – Southern Company Initiative

The position is responsible for leading the team of SMEs through projects involving both vendor and in-house solutions. Secondly, this position is responsible for developing and executing plans on business continuity for all these applications. Lastly, this position will have responsibility to work with a One Team mindset and strongly collaborate with key customers, stakeholders and peers across Southern Company operating companies.

Work arrangement for this leadership position wil follow Southern Company policy.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the direct supervision, performance management, and work direction of a group of highly skilled SMEs who maintain and upgrade existing technology used by , Distribution and Operations.

  • Develop and execute on business continuity for these key applications.

  • Build bench strength for seamlessly supporting the applications.

  • Establish robust documentation and repositories for the applications

  • Set clear expectations of the team and establish processes to monitor progress

  • Support continued advances in diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Advanced knowledge of Distribution Systems and Operations

  • Lead the upgrades and deployment of new versions of technology applications.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with members from Power Delivery, SCS Technology Organization, AFT, Southern Company operating companies, and with vendors.

  • Communicate key milestones, updates to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Engage leadership for critical decisions and seek input when needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred

  • Previous leadership experience preferred

  • Travel is required on and off the system up to 25% of the time

Work Location : Downtown Atlanta, GA

Relocation may be provided based on candidate and business need.
