AIG Casualty Product Officer in Atlanta, Georgia

The Casualty Product Officer is a strategic leadership role responsible for supporting AIG underwriting leadership to achieve best in class results for assigned commercial casualty lines, such as Commercial General Liability (CGL), Commercial Auto (CA), and Workers’ Compensation (WC). The role requires a deep understanding of ISO and NCCI rates, rules and forms, as well as knowledge of underwriting procedures, issuance systems and premium audit functions. The Casualty Product Officer will also own the end-to-end product development processes across all North America business units, while working very closely with the systems (Duck Creek, Majesco and other rate/quote/issue systems) implementation team .

Other responsibilities include improved efficiency and effectiveness of product development and management end-to-end processes, ensuring that operational and customer performance standards are both established and attained. The role will also ensure adherence to established target operating models, as well as establishing and adhering to product regulatory and compliance requirements. The Casualty Product Officer of North America will also be a key driver in the management of an AIG Global Forms Library working with CUOs, Operations, IT and Legal. The Casualty Product Officer will also provide strategic direction as appropriate regarding product development, regulatory and compliance process needs outside NA, with the support of international and resources in the regions.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

The role is to develop and lead casualty product development and product management initiatives, across all casualty business units in North America, including Canada, prioritizing, and focusing on General Liability, Commercial Auto and Workers’ Compensation. This includes developing product development guidelines, product workflows, and the product development business model.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead product development and product management initiatives across all business units in North America, including Canada.

  • Lead/coordinate the Casualty Standard Commercial Underwriting Platform (SCUP) / Duck Creek initiative for all Casualty products.

  • Help develop product development governance structure and processes for:

  • evaluating new product requests and

  • drafting of forms and endorsement.

  • Coordinate and lead the aggregation and integration of the Casualty and other forms libraries into the Global Forms Library.

  • Establish procedures that will coordinate the ingestion of bureau/ISO forms and assure the timely assumption of form and rate filings across all businesses including Casualty.

  • Assure regulatory compliance for all aspects of product development.

  • Develop and deliver product development guidelines within the framework of risk appetite, underwriting appetite, limits management and emerging risks.

  • Work with business leaders and CUOs to develop, position, market, and deliver innovative, market-leading products in a manner that effectively leverages our strengths and creates a competitive differentiation in the marketplace.

  • Collaboratively develop the product development business strategy to successfully propel segments into a significant and profitable long-term, sustainable leadership position in the marketplace in support of the company’s ROE objectives over the long-term.

  • Drive underwriting excellence across businesses through quality assurance practices and training.

  • Develop a culture of regulatory and compliance and ensure AIG stakeholders understand the risks we assume.

  • Establish strong relationships with product leadership; create mutual understanding of overall parameters and goals to drive effective execution of the product development business model.

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of insurance leadership and US Liability experience.

  • Expert technical underwriting and/or product development background in the related Casualty products (Auto, Excess, GL, WC).

  • A deep understanding of product development, portfolio management and profitability drivers.

  • Proven Strategic Leadership skills in developing vision and purpose, driving for results and leading effective teams.

  • Established strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Skilled leader of change; versatile, client focused, results oriented.

  • Demonstrated business savvy, analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution experience.
