Description

Serve as a surgeon in the Section of General Thoracic Surgery within the Department of Surgery with active inpatient and outpatient practice at the following locations:

o Emory University Hospital Midtown

o Grady Memorial Hospital

• Primary call coverage responsibility with the section at Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) and Grady Memorial Hospital.

o As needed, occasional coverage needs may arise at Emory University Hospital (EUH), Emory Saint Joseph Hospital (ESJ), and Atlanta VAMC

• Participate in efforts to provide outstanding clinical care, maintain/improve quality and patient safety, access to and management of clinical trials, and developing /refining Innovative strategies in the field of general thoracic surgery

• Participate in committees, peer review, present cases in the M&M case conferences, manage patient workups and procedures according to department guidelines, and adopt any tools and/or technologies deemed part of the practice of general thoracic surgery

• Meet with the Division Chief two times annually to formally discuss progress and performance

Responsibilities subject to change at the discretion of the Chief of the Division of Cardiothoraclc Surgery or Chair of the Department of Surgery to address needs and opportunities.
