Robert Half Accounting Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia

Description We are seeking an Accounting Specialist based in Atlanta, Georgia, 30345, United States. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and revolves around assisting the finance department with various tasks and projects. As an Accounting Specialist, you will work closely with all internal business units to aid in their financial tracking.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing day-to-day transactions by inputting financial data into accounting software, such as invoices, receipts, journal entries, and other financial transactions.

• Processing and managing accounts payable transactions, including recording invoices, verifying expenses, processing payments, and reconciling vendor statements.

• Managing accounts receivable activities, including generating invoices, monitoring payments from customers, reconciling accounts, and following up on overdue payments.

• Assisting with general ledger accounting tasks, such as posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.

• Reconciling bank statements with company records to ensure the accuracy of cash balances and identify any discrepancies.

• Processing employee expense reports, verifying expenses, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Utilizing various accounting software systems, ADP - Financial Services, Concur, Great Plains (GPAC), Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and billing functions.

• Handling check processing tasks efficiently. Requirements

• Must possess at least 5 years of experience in the role of an Accounting Specialist or similar position

• Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is required

• Experience with Concur and Great Plains (GPAC) is necessary

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential

• Knowledge of Accounting Functions is a must

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required

• Familiarity with Billing Functions is necessary

• Experience in Check Processing is a requisite

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
