Ohio University Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Sustainable AI Hardware in Athens, Ohio

Job Description:

The Russ College of Engineering and Technology’s School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Ohio University invites applications for the grant-funded, full-time, benefits eligible position of Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Sustainable AI Hardware.

The Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Sustainable AI Hardware will conduct research and teaching in developing sustainable artificial intelligence technologies by combing algorithms and hardware technologies (including photonics, quantum, wireless) to improve performance, resiliency, energy-efficiency of manycore architectures, chiplet and datacenters. Responsibilities associated with this position include research in the areas of sustainable hardware for computing and communication of deep learning neural networks (DNNs), convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and large language models (LLMs), write proposals and research publications. The candidate will also be responsible for developing curriculum and introductory courses in sustainable hardware. Mentor undergraduate and graduate student research assistants working in sustainable hardware. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field by the start date of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including superlative technical writing skills.

  • Possess a superior ability for data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.

  • Be capable of organizing work and performing duties autonomously and without need of direct supervision.

  • Possess a creative approach to problem solving.
