Ohio University Assistant Director, Alumni Engagement in Athens, Ohio
Job Description:
The Assistant Director, Alumni Engagement is responsible for supporting the Director of Alumni Engagement in developing and executing strategy that seeks to engage alumni and friends in marquee alumni traditions such as Bobcat Bashes, Founders Day, Homecoming, and Give Thanks November that help to advance the mission of the OHIO Alumni Association and the University. The incumbent will support programs and initiatives that drive participation across engagement channels and the university, including lifelong learning, alumni networks, regional engagement, and digital experiences. This individual will develop and deliver programs and manage relationships that support the OUAA’s strategies for moving stakeholders through the phases of engagement that result in participation and financial support. The Assistant Director will represent the Association to a broad audience of alumni, donors, university partners, and administration.
Primary Responsibilities:
- OUAA Traditions Management:
Develop OUAA Tradition strategies that incorporate overall Advancement and OUAA yearly goals
Consult, collaborate, and manage relationships with OUAA Campus Partnerships and other University partners to ensure continuity between experiences, themes, and opportunities for shared resource allocation.
Establish policies & procedures that indicate how external OHIO departments and units engage with OUAA for requests and partnerships during OUAA Traditional experiences.
Foster a culture of collaboration and best practices with University partners as it pertains to OUAA Traditional experiences.
Collaborate with Director of Engagement to develop comprehensive marketing plan for the overall OUAA traditional experiences that provides cohesion for the alumni audience.
Maintain ongoing assessment of alumni traditions and engagement initiatives to ensure continuity and effectiveness.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine processes for data collection and post-event tracking within the database.
- External Engagement Support & Management:
Support Director of Engagement on implementation and execution of Homecoming strategy.
Collaborate with Associate Director of Network & Volunteer Engagement to ensure continuity across the OUAA brand during traditional experiences.
Manage and execute ancillary offerings alongside OUAA experiences, events, and campus partnerships that provide promotion of OUAA traditions.
Support athletic and spirit-related activities in collaboration with university partners.
Provides leadership and oversees the delegation of engagement work to OUAA GA’s and Student Workers.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of 1 year of work-related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Advertised Salary:
The proposed salary range for this position is $43,888 to $51,377. The salary negotiated at the time of offer will be commensurate with education and experience while also considering internal equity. RELOCATION allowance or SIGN ON BONUS of up to 10% of the base salary may also be available!
