Description:

Directly responsible for the daily operational activities necessary to assure that all functions of Patient Registration are performed in the most efficient and effective manner, to promote public relations by being friendly, professional and respectful, to guarantee the flow of accurate medical, insurance and demographic information throughout the system.

Position Requirements :

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration : CPAR Preferred

B. Education: High school diploma required; two years of college or prescribed course of study in business or healthcare field preferred; Spanish speaking preferred.

Experience: One to two years’ experience in health care environment or customer relations required.

Special Qualifications:

  • Experience in automated systems

  • Knowledge of third party payers

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology

  • Ability to type 40 w.p.m.

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Problem solving skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Knowledge of general hospital policies and procedures especially those concerning patient access including legal and regulatory requirements relative to providing health care services.

Degree of Supervision Required: Performs complex, responsible, coordinated and evaluative functions under general, direct and periodic supervision of the department manager. Must be capable of working as part of a team.
