Job Summary

IMI is seeking a full-time Project Engineer for the Athens, GA area.

Essential Functions

The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company policy, strategy, commitments, and goals.

  • Ensure the safe operation of all projects by following and enforcing all company and customer safety policies and regulations.

  • Estimate the value of work based on IMI standardized processes and tools.

  • Assist in the design, planning and implementation of a project clearly articulating project scope, goals, and deliverables.

  • Develop full scale project plans with timelines.

  • Review and approve design drawings prior to customer submittal.

  • Develop and manage a budget.

  • Provide direction and support to project team.

  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders including problems and solutions.

  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.

  • Close assigned project with a managed review with project managers and customers that validates quality of work and adherence to scope of work.

  • Ability to develop material take offs from customer supplied prints.

  • Assist to develop and implement a strategy to increase business in your designated area and cultivate positive customer relationships with existing and potential customers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 3-5 years' experience in power industry.

  • Ability to create and modify design drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders.

  • Computer experience, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Project, and Outlook.

  • Ability to read and understand construction specifications and drawings.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Stand of walk for long periods of time

  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, or manipulate objects

  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance

  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects

  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
