Location: Russel Research Center, Athens, Georgia

Min. Yrs. Experience: 5 Years

Pay: $27.98/hour plus $6.42/hour Health & Wellness Benefit and $2.75/hour 401(k) benefit

Hours: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm – Monday through Friday

    Job Description

  • Maintains building woodwork and equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, doors, floors, casings, and trim made of wood. Work involves planning and laying out work from blueprints, drawings or verbal instructions, selecting necessary material. Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

  • Must be able to routinely lift 75 lbs.

  • Union contract position.

    Abilities/Skills/Knowledge Required by the Position

  • Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through apprenticeship or equivalent.

  • Reports to O&M Foreman

    Requirements

  • Employees may be subject to immunization and testing requirements pursuant to Client and current Company requirements.

  • Employees must meet the requirements of the federal credentialing process to access the facility, which includes but is not limited to, obtaining facility access (aka PIV card, smart card, access card, badge) and meeting ongoing training and access requirements.

  • May be required to participate in the select agent program which would include additional background investigations, training, and performing work in a bio containment facility.
