Trinity Health Construction Project Manager in Athens, Georgia

Description:

Position responsible for leading and overseeing major construction projects. Works with engineers and architects to develop a plan, create a project time frame, distribute resources and ensure timely completion.

Position Requirements :

A: Licensure/Certification/Registration : No licensure required.

B. Education: Bachelors Degree in Construction Engineering, Architecture, a related field, or equivalent experience. Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration and or Business Administration preferred

C: Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years progressive experience in planning and managing large scale, multi-million dollar construction projects required

D. Special Qualifications: Must possess proven track record of successful management of multi-million dollar healthcare construction projects. Strong familiarity with Standard Agreement templates as published by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) covering all facets of capital project management preferred. Outstanding leadership ability, capable of engaging and motivating a team with a broad range of experiences and backgrounds to accomplish project objectives. Highly effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, as well as excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Is knowledgeable of and ensures that supervised Associates are knowledgeable of applicable current compliance policies and procedures, laws and regulatory developments including their responsibility to comply with applicable laws, regulations and St Marys Hospital policies as a condition of employment, as well as reporting mechanisms such as the corporate compliance hotline.

  • Ensures that Associates complete compliance orientation and ensures and arranges for ongoing specific risk training (applicable to the department) on a regular basis throughout the year.

  • Provides appropriate assistance regarding monitoring techniques to reasonably assure compliance in supervised functional areas, including the submission of reports of suspect non- compliance to the Compliance Officer so that further evaluation can be performed.

  • Responds timely to detect offenses, assists in the investigation and in the development and implementation of disciplinary and/or corrective action initiatives.

  • Is familiar with and adheres to the Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct

  • Facilitate and oversee competitive selection process and contract negotiation for all owner-contracted consultants.

  • Regularly monitor contract compliance with all owner-contracted firms.

  • Complete a final review of all contracts to ensure services and billings are consistent with contract terms

  • Monitor schedule adherence including but not limited to:

  • Design

  • Construction Phases

  • Equipment and technology planning and purchase

  • Vendor bidding and selection

  • Regulatory reviews/approvals and conditions

  • Internal and Home Office reviews and approvals

  • Communication to internal and external stakeholders

  • Equipment and technology installation

  • Training, move-in, occupancy

  • Prepare and regularly update a comprehensive issues list which identifies all outstanding issues, responsible parties and targeted resolution steps and dates for the overall project

  • Promote early identification of issues, facilitates appropriate resolution consistent with overall project goals and schedule/budget parameters

  • Develop and oversee change order management process

  • Establish criteria and a process for evaluating and approving potential value engineering and cost reduction items

  • Challenge the project team on all key assumptions and decisions that will have an impact on quality, efficiency, safety, and cost to ensure that the project remains within budgetary constraints and results in the most efficient and effective operational model.

  • Develop and oversee contingency approval process

  • Ensure the budget and schedule is aligned with the Integrated Strategic, Financial and Capital (ISFC) Plan and annual capital budget capacity

  • Provide Executive Steering Committee with status reports including schedule, project costs, issues and items requiring action at regularly scheduled meetings.

  • Provide monthly project status reports to Trinity Health Capital Project Management department. Coordinate with this office to leverage system-wide tools and ensure consistency with standardized processes.

  • Work with Accounts Payable and Accounting to establish processes to ensure appropriate and timely payment of all invoices and pay applications and appropriate accounting for project costs. Provide regular reports on project spending relative to budget to Home Office Finance.

  • Work with Home Office Risk Management to implement and coordinate an Owner Controlled Insurance Program

  • Assist Organizational Integrity and Audit Services in monitoring the compliance with Trinity Health Policies and Procedures and Contract Agreement requirements

  • Coordinate equipment evaluation and purchase with Supply Chain Management

  • Secure user-group input to design development.

  • Serve as the interface between the Project Team and Trinity Information Services through design and construction

  • Review punch list and coordinate project close-out review of all contractor-provided construction documents with the Director of Facilities, business owners and finance

  • Ensure timely communication and appropriate engagement with affected departments to minimize operational impact of construction activity. Work with Infection Control and Safety Officer to establish appropriate procedures to ensure the safety of our patients, visitors, physicians and staff during construction
