Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. Sr Planning Analyst - Transmission Operations in Astoria, New York

Overview

Con Edison's Transmission Operations team is looking to hire a Senior Planning Analyst to join its team. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, resourceful and articulate. He/she must possess a 'can-do' attitude, have a clear sense of accountability and understand what it takes to meet customers' needs. The individual must be well organized, detail-oriented, and flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Capable of managing complex projects and rendering sound business decisions. Possess strong oral and written communication skills and have the ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, support staff, and various levels of management. Possess a broad level of technical knowledge and business acumen in the electric transmission system. Strong computer skills are required, including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office applications, etc.The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various aspects of the Transmission Operations outage scheduling and O&M/capital program management functions. This will include preparing and submitting outage requests, tracking status of outage requests and working to identify opportunities to consolidate work into the minimum number of equipment outages.. Develop/maintain consolidated, high level schedule and work plans, and formulate resource capability plans with working groups. Evaluate and incorporate EH&S concerns in all work plans to ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental goals. Evaluate and provide projections of project/program financial status, including identifying potential overrun conditions, and development of recovery plans to address these situations. Identify emergent capital work items and develop plans to address these within various time constraints. Prepare capital budget proposals in support of various capital projects and programs. Input databases/applications to assist personnel in meeting outage scheduling and cost management objectives. Prepare and update documentation for Project Management procedural compliance as needed. Candidate must be familiar with Human Performance tools and demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy. Candidate must be able to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, representations and operating diagrams.Position requires frequent field work, including significant walking and climbing as well as exposure to energized equipment. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to use personal vehicle for regular travel within the service territory. Position requires candidate to report to Transmission Operations Astoria office or field location on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required, including off-hour shift work as needed.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years' related experience in the engineering, design, construction, operations and/or maintenance of Electrical Transmission equipment or
  • Associate's Degree and 7 or more years' related experience in the engineering, design, construction, operations and/or maintenance of Electrical Transmission equipment
Relevant Work Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in the engineering, design, construction, operations and/or maintenance of Electrical Transmission equipment. Required
Licenses And Certfications
  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Ability to visit and navigate construction sites and manholes.

Minimum Salary: 105000.00 Maximum Salary: 145000.00 Salary Unit: Yearly
