As an integral member of the CBP End User Device IT Management Services team, the Technical Reporting Specialist will be responsible for technical writing, documentation, and report management. Reporting will be done using tools like SSRS, Power BI and SPLUNK for a distributed Microsoft Configuration Endpoint Management (MECM), Intune, and Jamf managed desktop environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with various teams to provide clear messaging, timely and accurate reporting, and will establish themselves as a trusted source of information for senior leadership. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in using an enterprise ticket management system for handling change requests, as this role may involve performing technical tasks as well as reporting on team activities. This role will follow all established procedures and approved cybersecurity practices, while providing outstanding customer support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide reporting and maintenance support of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) infrastructure, Jamf, and Microsoft Intune
Create and maintain Power BI dashboards pertaining to client requests and focused on contract deliverables
Fulfill requests for ad-hoc reporting and information regarding client workstation systems and cybersecurity compliance items.
Fulfill end user and change requests for operational engineering assignments pertaining to software deployments, security updates, and overall configuration of client workstation systems
Write technical support documents, write or modify existing policy and procedure documentation, create or modify job guides, develop technical approaches, and provide recommendations to improve upon current processes where necessary
Provide mentoring and assistance with junior team personnel when needed
Support all functional areas of the team with writing and reporting support as requested
Perform additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and CERTIFICATIONS:
Current CBP Background Investigation -or- US Citizenship with ability to obtain a Federal Public Trust clearance (REQUIRED).
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (or related field) OR 3-5 years of relevant IT experience OR Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or Graphic Design WITH 1-3 years relevant IT experience
Certifications in A+, Security+, BeyondTrust, Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator, or MECM related are a plus.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES, and QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong understanding of modern/current Windows and Mac operating systems
Proficient skill level utilizing and maintaining enterprise management systems with Microsoft Intune and MECM
Demonstrated experience within a distributed environment of at least 5,000 workstations and/or servers, 20,000+ workstations a plus, 75,000+ in government setting ideal
Experience with managing SharePoint is a plus
Excellent process-oriented skills with regards to configuration management and troubleshooting within a complex enterprise environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data sets to determine trends and identify strategies
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences and influence cross functionally
Ability to multi-task and be creative and innovative in a dynamic, fast paced matrix team environment
Experience with Power Automate and workflow automation tools such as SCORCH are a plus
Strong background in creating and providing reports to management groups/board members/shareholders
Proven history of creating and delivering custom reports in SSRS, PowerBI and/or SPLUNK
Patch and release management in a regulated environment, DHS or component preferred.
Experience with change requests and change management processes
Demonstrated ability to communicate with senior management on enterprise patching levels, vulnerability management compliance, and hardware configuration requirement statuses
