Position Description This position is responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy of data within a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, ensuring the system effectively calculates and plans inventory needs for production, by updating item master data, adjusting safety stock levels, and monitoring system performance to identify and resolve discrepancies, ultimately optimizing inventory levels and production scheduling within a manufacturing environment. The role involvesensuring the smooth operation and accuracy of the MRP system within a manufacturing or production environment, including development of processes, tools, and methods to drive continuous improvement and improved ERP usage.This encompasses tasks related to data management, system updates, troubleshooting, and ensuring the system aligns with production planning and scheduling needs.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Support process development and maintenance activities within the ERP system
Develop standard work and provide training to assist in process optimization.
Support and maintain data integrity and accuracy within complex business processes.
Ability to develop reports and analysis to improve data-based decisions from ERP and Operations Data sources.
Familiarity with Load versus Capacity analysis, Sales & Operations Planning, Time Management (Efficiency, Productivity, Utilization), Cost of Poor Quality, Engineer to Order Planning.
Leads planning group in continuous improvement and project implementation.
This position will also have the responsibility to provide operational capabilities and recommendations to ensure resource allocation aligns with strategic objectives and long-term goals.
Implementation monitoring - auditing and verification of continuous improvement activities, including feedback to impacted teams and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of Machining, Welding and Assembly Processes
Knowledge of Engineer to Order and Inventory Management inside ERP environments
Trained and experienced in all levels of planning.
Skills include creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and the abilities to organize and multitask
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong Leadership skills
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a planner role
Planning experience in a manufacturing, specifically in Engineer to Order environments
Advanced knowledge with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Demonstrated Advanced knowledge of JD Edwards (or other MRP System) and integrated systems including but not limited to Query (reporting system) and RF Smart.
APICS certification preferred.
Functional ability and understanding of VBA.
