VDI Engineer

As a VDI Engineer at Blackspoke, you will support the design, configuration, and maintenance of a large, globally accessed virtual desktop environment. Your expertise will ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter.

What you will be working on: As the VDI Engineer, you will:

  • Provide Tier 3/4 support to system administrators to resolve VDI issues.
  • Provide guidance on the optimization of desktops for platform interoperability.
  • Act as a liaison between Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies.
  • Offer endpoint support on issues and trouble resolution tasks related to Virtual Desktops.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge relative to administration, engineering, and implementation of VDI-related technologies.
  • Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Apply extensive technical expertise and knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Conduct trade studies and make recommendations on solutions and "make buy" decisions.

What you will bring to us (Must):

  • Experience providing engineering support for legacy and current versions of Citrix products.
  • 5+ years of experience with a BS degree or a combination of years of experience and education.
  • Experience progressing from Administrator to Senior Engineer.
  • Proficiency with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later, Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS), Citrix Cloud Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), Citrix Netscaler / ADC / VPX, Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM), Citrix App Layering, Liquidware Profile Unity, and Hyper-V, VMware VDI (Microsoft or Citrix NetScalers / ADCs).

Would be nice if you bring the following (Highly Desired):

  • Experience managing and administering Windows Server clustering.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
  • Familiarity with System Center Virtual Machine Manager/VMware vCenter 6.7.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory/Group Policies, Home Directory and Profile management, and Desktop Software provisioning and Support Services.
