Overview Our TEC Devlopment team is seeking a Commercial Carpenter to join our inhouse construction team that focuses on new construction and remodels. Responsibilities Read and interpret building plans/blueprint for large and complex structures Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes Take measurement of distances and materials to establish the dimension/size of a structure Erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes Work with various construction materials among which include wood, fiberglass, steel, and concrete Cut, shape, and smooth the surface of materials using power saws and sanders Operate a range of equipment and machinery Ensure compliance with safety regulations to minimize risk of workplace accident Provide direction to laborers and other construction workers Qualifications Five years of experience in commercial carpentry, metal and wood framing Experience in the following areas: Steel building erection Concrete form work and finishing Doors and hardware Metal siding and roofing panels Drywall and suspended ceilings Strong attention to detail Experience using complex power tools Proficient math skills Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to maintain good eye to hand coordination when working on materials with various tools Ability to perform physical duties of the job in a safe and alert manner Benefits TEC provides our employees and their families with a full menu of health, wellness, and retirement benefits.
