Zero Trust Cybersecurity Engineer

The company is located in Washington D.C. and will require 4 days on site a week.

Qualified candidates should have experience with Zero Trust, be familiar with Insider Threat detection and Privileged User Management and possess technical hands-on expertise. Candidates must hold an active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop Zero Trust Implementation Roadmaps: Create detailed plans for implementing Zero Trust frameworks within the organization.

  • Design and Implement Zero Trust Security Solutions: Architect and deploy technical solutions to enforce Zero Trust principles.

  • Infuse Zero Trust Principles: Integrate Zero Trust design principles across all aspects of the model, including users, devices, networks, applications, and data.

  • Coordinate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure comprehensive Zero Trust implementation across customer environments.

  • Support Privileged Access Management (PAM): Design, implement, troubleshoot, and develop new plugins and connectors for the PAM system (currently CyberArk). Maintain and revise technical documentation as needed.

  • Endpoint Security Tools: Design, research, analyze, implement, and document configurations for client-selected endpoint security tools (currently Tanium) to enhance Zero Trust maturity and reduce cyber risk. Troubleshoot issues as they arise.

  • Develop and Maintain Dashboards and Analytics: Utilize client-provided tools (currently Tableau) to create and manage dashboards and analytics. Integrate with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tools (currently Archer) for data collection, refinement, and visualization. Prepare reports using various data modeling methods.

  • Administer Splunk Environment: Oversee the client's Splunk environment, including search heads, indexers, deployers, deployment servers, heavy/universal forwarders, and the Splunk Enterprise Security premium app. Identify and onboard new data sources, analyze data for trends, and build dashboards. Maintain Splunk configuration files and apps.

  • Develop Security Policies: Implement security policies using tools (e.g., Kion) and programming languages (e.g., Python) for cloud-based resources (e.g., Azure, AWS). Develop integrations for dashboards and cyber “heat maps”.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Zero Trust Security Assessments: Conduct readiness assessments, such as gap analyses and maturity assessments.

  • Experience: At least 8 years of experience in enterprise-wide architecture, engineering, implementation, and integrations, with a focus on security architecture.

  • Zero Trust Technologies: Proficiency in technologies related to Identity and Access Management (IAM), Network Segmentation, and Encryption.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Python scripting is desirable.

  • Insider Threat and Privileged User Management: Hands-on experience managing insider threats, privileged users, and generating relevant metrics.

  • Practical Experience: Familiarity with CyberArk, Tanium, and Splunk. Linux experience is a plus.

  • NIST SP Standards: At least 5 years of experience with engineering enterprise IT solutions using NIST SP guidelines (e.g., SP800-60, SP800-64, SP800-80, SP800-122, SP800-137, SP800-146, SP800-160, SP800-204, SP800-207, SP800-213).
