Amazon WWPS Business Ops Analyst, US FED National Security & Defense in Arlington, Virginia

Description

AWS is seeking a driven and talented Business Operations Analyst to play a critical role on our Worldwide Public Sector National Security and Defense Business Operations team. This analyst is an important point of coordination between the WWPS government sales teams, finance teams, and AWS technical organizations, and is responsible for helping to drive scalable operational mechanisms, create strategic narratives, and run operational cadences to drive growth in secure government regions.

Data analysis is at the core of Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision-making and strategy for our organization. Close partnership with leaders and organizations outside of your immediate team will be necessary, as you will compile data and information that will influence decisions at the most senior levels in Amazon. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical abilities, strong business acumen and judgement, intense curiosity, and superior written and verbal communication skills, along with a passion for pursuing operational excellence.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop reporting systems and performance dashboards that encompass key metrics to be reviewed with senior Sales Directors, VPs, and the WWPS leadership team in order to drive and manage the business

• Support various WWPS leaders with analysis, ad-hoc data requests, meetings/presentations, and strategic planning activities

• Extract raw usage and financial data from business databases and data warehouse, and perform analytics to produce meaningful reports that enable decision making

• Generate metrics and deliver regular reports on progress against KPIs to senior leaders and internal stakeholders

• Interact with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, create new processes/solutions, and resolve complex problems

The AWS Worldwide Public Sector National Security and Defense Business Operations team drives strategic program usage, benefits, and sales execution for AWS Sellers working in the National Security and Defense Markets, accelerating revenue growth, profitability, and transformation with Public Sector end customers. Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Microsoft Excel experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software

  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of finance, business management and sales operations experience

  • Experience with data visualization software (e.g., AWS QuickSight or Tableau) or open-source project

  • Experience managing senior stakeholders

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated, innovative, multi-tasking individual with a great sense of urgency and follow-through

  • Experience conducting large scale data analysis to support business decision making
