AvantGarde, LLC Training Specialist/ NGB SAPR Program Support in Arlington, Virginia

POSITION SUMMARY

As Training Specialist, assists in the design and delivery of all Sexual Assault Prevention Response Training for the National Guard. Assists in providing oversight to both ARNG and ANG SAPR training. The Training Specialist participates in multiple working groups (DoD, SAPRAC, and with ARNG SHARP/ANG SAPR Program) representing the National Guard Title 32 Equities or J1-SAPR Office requirements. Work to be performed onsite 3 days per week at DoD National Guard Bureau (NGB) Headquarters location in Arlington, VA. Travel is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for review and necessary update of the T32 NGB SAPR Curriculum – in cooperation with the SAPRAC T32 Training Working Group.

· Prepare NG SAPR training as required to include retaliation based on sexual assault, pre-command and senior leader.

· Assist in the delivery and quality control of NG SAPR training products and to ensure compliance with DoD requirements.

· Review and ensure appropriate logistical support is provided for each NGB organized training event.

· Provide support for training events (Refresher Training) at State and National training events.

· Participate on behalf of the NGB J1-SAPR as SME of T32 NG Equities at the DoD Working Groups.

· Participate in NGB working groups as required pertaining to the SNG SAPR program, to include SAPRAC Working Groups, ARNG SHARP Program, and ANG SAPR Program.

· Participate and collaborate with external agencies on Prevention Strategies, and research and develop products that enhance leadership training, provide leveraging tools that help create a positive organizational culture and reduces risk behavior.

· Assist the 54 States and Territories in obtaining D-SAACP approval for their refresher training agenda.

· Provide assistance to 54 States and Territories in approving the NGB Victim Advocate SAPR Training and upon completion of the training, provide the training course attendees with their training certificates.

· Prepare quarterly SAPR Climate Survey assessment reports and slides for the National Guard utilizing the DEOCS Executive reports.

· Conduct data analysis on DoD Reports (MIJES, WGRR) and provide a synopsis with PPT presentation.

· Develop or update Standard Operating Procedures as required.

· Participate in the monthly SAPRAC calls representing the J1-SAPR Office training interests.

· Plan coordinate and schedule NGB working groups; create meeting agendas and submit meeting minutes, as required.

· Provide weekly activity and progress update reports.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

· Bachelor’s Degree or at least four years’ experience working in the Human Relations/Social Work-related field. (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology)

· Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a trainer and in training development.

· Experience working with a military Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program preferred

· Experience with or understanding of the National Guard

· Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance required by the client

ABOUT THE CLIENT

The National Guard Bureau J1-SAPR Office supports both the ARNG SHARP Program and the ANG SAPR Program as their primary client. The J1-SAPR Office also provides support directly and indirectly to the 54 States and Territories as it relates to the SAPR Program.
