Amazon's Finance Technology organization (FinTech) builds and maintains the finance technology platforms and services that enable new business growth, compliance with financial and tax reporting obligations, and analysis of our financial data. Through our products, we aim to maximize time spent by Finance teams on high value analysis, reduce the growth of operating expenses, and improve the vendor experience.

This role will focus on Fixed Assets, which is a significant line on Amazon’s balance sheet and growing 26% YOY. They range widely from buildings, furniture, servers, delivery vehicles, drones, airplanes, robots, etc. and are in every country in which we do business. We are building systems that service the fixed asset needs of tax, accounting, and finance teams worldwide, and automating transactions from asset creation through disposal. It is multi-year challenge and we are building a team with the technical chops to revolutionize fixed assets well beyond what any tier 1 ERPs can do today.

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) professional to play a significant part in leading a multi-year program from concept through execution. As Amazon continues to scale and add complexity, FinTech will build new processes and tools to automate financial transactions and reporting. This TPM will work hand in hand with our engineers to define the architecture across dev team, and with our customers across Tax, Accounting, FinOps, AWS, Retail, Transportation and others to define and orchestrate scope, work streams, timing, milestones, and communication plan. This TPM will need to dive deep with the development team and challenge the design as needed. Solutions involve the development of new products and services, and leverage existing products and services in new ways. It is rife with ambiguity, and we are looking for a leader who can embrace the challenge of solving complex technical problems that require consistent iteration and schedule refinement. This leader will facilitate the development of detailed project plans and timelines, ensure technical teams are delivering to the customer requirements, and drive leadership alignment and communication of our progress across teams.

The successful candidate will have strong Technical Program Management, be highly collaborative, globally minded and have a high level of customer focus. You should be a motivated self-starter that works well with others in a dynamic, ambiguous environment. You should have excellent business, technical, and communication skills to be able to work across countries and markets, dev teams, and with business owners to define and deliver improvements.

Key job responsibilities

· Develop program vision and timelines, and gain buy-in for that vision across senior leadership

· Lead validation of ideas and feedback to refine the program vision

· Develop program governance, communication, roadmaps, and milestones

· Codify requirements across multiple customers into a single program and roadmap

· Drive program management and engineering resources in the design, development and launch of new products.

· Work across cross-functional project teams to enable the successful launch of the program

· Own and develop a communication plan that includes regular reviews with customers and leadership

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

    • Bachelors degree
Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
