Amazon Strategic Program Leader, Global Automotive and Manufacturing, in Arlington, Virginia

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re hiring a Strategic Program Leader (SPL) to manage large investment and billable programs with the Automotive and Manufacturing industries largest customers. The Strategic Program Manager leads a combined AWS team of ProServe Engagement Managers, Consultants, and specialists, along with our partners, to deliver digital transformation projects with our customers. As the overall engagement lead, you will drive a large delivery team, enable stakeholder alignment, build team cohesion, manage program and project risks. You will assist in training internal teams in cloud best practices, development/framework best practices, accelerate innovation and cloud adoption scenarios, prioritize delivery of use cases, and enable innovation and growth on the core platform.

In this role you work with senior executives to solve the biggest challenges in the Automotive and Manufacturing industries. You will combine your expertise with Amazon’s culture of innovation to transformative strategic engagements for our automotive customers.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

AWS engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective AWS customer experience, best practices, and obsessing about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product, service, and training teams, to deliver the right solutions and drive innovations for our customers. These engagements focus on the full suite of AWS offerings to deliver comprehensive transformation for our customer and their industry.

Key job responsibilities

  • Large scale Program Management – Lead a large delivery team comprised of teams from across AWS and from the customer’s organization

  • Advisory - Work as a strategic business partner to help customers achieve their business outcomes and help to drive innovation throughout the engagement lifecycle

  • Training – Teach customers, partners, and internal teams on our delivery framework and continue to develop and iterate on the current methodology

  • Partnering – Manage partners as part of the broader set of organizations involved, conduct partner enablement briefings and trainings to further scale program success.

  • Delivery – Define and plan complex integrated workstreams, delivering executive level and detailed status reports that properly communicates a project’s progress and financials tailored to the audience. This role is responsible for managing Engagement Managers, AWS delivery consultants, and managing the scope and budget of each individual project

  • Pre-Sales - Work with Account Teams and - ProServe leaders to demonstrate ProServe contribution to accelerate customer’s business outcomes and AWS adoption, with focus on strategic opportunities.

  • Feedback - Work with AWS engineering, support and business teams to convey partner and customer feedback and lessons learned.

This is a customer facing and may require up to 50% travel.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree with 10+ years’ experience leading the delivery of multiple enterprise-level transformations, including at the Executive Director or VP level or equivalent consulting role.

  • 10+ years managing scope, schedule, budget, and program risks and setting strategic roadmaps and partnership plans.

  • Experience leading diverse technical and soft-skilled teams of 25 or more.

  • Experience managing C-level executive stakeholders (CIO, CEO, CTO, etc.), including in strategic negotiations.

  • 10+ years mentoring, coaching or training other project/engagement managers, the business or customers on best practices, frameworks and/or methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of automotive, supply chain, or manufacturing experience with a major automotive manufacturer, tier 1 supplier, or analogous industry.

  • Consulting experience at the C-suite and Board level or equivalent internal experience.

  • Consulting leadership experience or similar internal role.

  • Public speaking and/or conference presentation experience.
