Amazon Sr. Program Manager, IT Services in Arlington, Virginia

Description

ITS provides IT support to Amazonians worldwide, via a team of IT support engineers. This role is responsible for managing the delivery of operational and strategic efforts, as well as coordinating and driving delivery of cross-functional dependencies supporting such initiatives. The Sr. PM delivers on program objectives and improvements, which are quantifiable with metrics, on opportunities or enhancements to IT Support.

The Sr. PM is responsible for understanding interdependencies of the business problems faced by IT Services and partners, and make optimal tradeoffs between schedule, resources, and scope, and apply business knowledge to address major risks, challenges, and obstacles. Additionally, you will play a significant role with business leaders to determine potential risks to a schedule and make difficult tradeoff decisions.

The Sr. PM partners with other organizations to support deployments, spotting risks and asking the right questions. The PM is expected to maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders, recognize discordant views and take part in constructive dialogue to resolve them

Key job responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong partner relationships with stakeholders, understanding and guiding strategic alignment to business direction

  • Create and manage project plans and program cadence reporting

  • Develop strategies to improve operational efficiencies of program effort

  • Deliver strategic and operational efforts end to end

  • Manage program effort communications at both team level detail and communications to senior leadership

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Experience delivering service transitions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
