Amazon Ad eXchange (AAX) aims to match ad opportunities (supply) from various Amazon Owned & Operated properties and external publishers with ad campaigns/lines (demand) and external demand sources in an efficient, scalable and privacy-centric manner while balancing the needs of advertisers, publishers and consumers. We ensure high ROI for our advertisers, high yield for our publishers and high-quality ad experiences for our consumers.

The AAX is a high scale (3 MM QPS), low latency service that is critical the entire Ad eco-system. The Amazon Advertising business is growing super fast, and so is our team and our data. The service and solutions we produce is used by dozens of internal business teams, as well as Amazon customers : Publishers, Broadcasters, Advertisers. We are still in that growth stage when every engineer on the team has a chance to design and own an end-to-end system, solution or large service.

We're looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead engineering and innovation for the Amazon Ads Exchange. You will be leading a team of talented engineers to build, operate, and scale software solutions from the group up or within existing systems. Key job responsibilities

  1. Develop technical roadmap, strategy, and facilitate the technical architecture between multiple complex systems.

  2. Create buy-in for the technical vision and strategy both internally and with key external partners

  3. Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, schedule, performance and cost

  4. Proactively identify and resolve technical risks and issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic or technical goals.

  5. Collaborate with cross-functional team to deliver the best experience for our customers

  6. Support the professional growth and career development of your team

Basic Qualifications

- - 2+ years of engineering team management experience

- - 5+ years of engineering experience

- - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

Preferred Qualifications

- - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
