Amazon Software Development Engineer, Region Build Quality in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world leader in providing a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world!

The Region Build Quality(RBQ) team supports tooling that helps AWS build more regions faster. Supporting the expansion of AWS services across regions presents unique and challenging opportunities to solve performance and scalability issues. We're also developing new tools in the region expansion space, requiring innovation and creative problem-solving.

We need highly motivated engineers who move fast, are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and have a strong will to get things done. Engineers on the RBQ team work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
