Who we are:

Our team is responsible for building the Prime Video Sports experiences across all clients that Prime Video supports (living room devices, mobile, web). We are coders and crafts people who care as much about how things look and feel as to the way they function and perform. We seek diverse perspectives and create accessible experiences for all people to enjoy. We strive to move fast for customers but prioritize long term decisions that will scale as we grow.

Our team focuses on customer-facing, high-visibility, high-impact projects to improve the customer experience for live events. PV Live Events provides the opportunity to design and build new full stack features end-to-end. Our technology focuses on real time event based native AWS services and emerging front end platforms including TV and VR.

Our team has access to multiple PEs and SDE IIIs within Live Events as well as across Prime Video to regularly engage with. They provide mentorship and support for career progression of our team members.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary SDEs to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.

  • Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.

  • Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.

  • Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.

  • Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.

  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • Familiarity with the syntax of languages such as Java, C/C++, Python or Rust.

  • Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, algorithm design, data structures, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Rust

  • Designing and integrating with RESTful APIs at scale

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development life cycles

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Passion for delivering exceptional user experiences

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
