The Work:

The Senior Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for Chinook Systems, Inc.

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.

  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.

  • Sources candidates through databases and social media, interviewing and coordinating interviews with hiring managers.

  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.

  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.

  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.

  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.

  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other key stakeholders.

  • Manages hiring decision-making process with hiring managers and prepares/extends offer letters.

  • Regularly tracks pipeline, priorities, and performance data to share with internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.

  • Fosters relationships with industry professional associations, colleges and professionals.

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.

  • Attracts suitable candidates for open job positions and assesses their relevant knowledge and experience.

  • Prepares recruitment materials and posts jobs to appropriate job boards, association memberships, trade groups, and social media, etc.

  • Collaborates with department managers to compile a consistent list of requirements to design and implement an overall recruiting strategy.

  • Provides well documented recruiting reports to the Human Resources Manager and company executives by developing and tracking goals for the recruiting and hiring process (i.e., data on cost per hire, time-to-hire and other metrics).

  • Conducts regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.

  • Leads weekly recruiting touchpoint meeting with key stakeholders.

  • Conducts interviews and sorts through applicants to fill open positions while growing a strong talent pipeline.

  • Promotes Chinook's reputation as “best place to work” and attractiveness as a good employment opportunity.

  • Researches and recommends new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.

  • Manage and coordinate 3rd party recruiters.

  • Manage applicant tracking system.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.

  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • MS Office - including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple searches, projects and client relationships.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.

  • The ideal candidate will have 4 -7 years' experience in full life cycle recruiting.

  • At least five years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred.

  • 3 years of experience in government contracting preferred.

  • Applicant tracking system experience with sourcing, tracking and managing candidates.

  • Recruiting for technical positions a plus.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
