Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Systems/Solutions Architect to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO). Come join our growing team today!

The successful candidate will possess technical knowledge, skills, and experience across a broad range of Data, Cloud, and IT. This position requires continuous awareness of evolving trends and the latest advancements in technology implementation to aid in developing innovative approaches and cutting-edge solutions. Knowledge of DoD and industry best practices are necessary to help define strategies that may include enterprise architecture models, business capability models, process definitions and hybrid operating models. This role requires the ability to identify the most important challenges or opportunities, maximize value by conducting rigorous system level analysis (concept, design, development, test, operation, and maintenance), and support the strategic management and architecture for disparate data sources across a wide variety of source systems and platforms.

What you will do

  • Leverage tactical technology skills and experience as a foundation for defining strategic solutions at the Enterprise Level for Dynamic Problem Set(s)

  • Identify and implement technology solutions from idea identification to business/enterprise technical solution definition, to implementation, while also assessing and mitigating 2nd and 3rd order impacts

  • This role will be involved in the following aspects of the DoD CIO Policy and Governance Mission

  • Collaborate with various system owners and stakeholders from Military Departments (MILDEPs), Defense Agencies and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) staff to identify, manage, migrate and protect critical data across a wide variety of formats, technology platforms and hosting environments (this role will require the ability to address issues, drive decisions and actions, and create solutions that leverage Cloud technologies)

  • Ability to work with a team in support of senior level customer leadership (GS-15 and SES)

  • Strong belief in service and end user requirements-driven solutions

  • Ability to be collaborative across a wide array of individuals at varying levels of technical skill

  • Effective writing and speaking ability to communicate complex strategies and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and leaders

  • Additional duties as assigned or required

What we are looking for

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience

  • Experience with multiple of the following technical areas:

  • Data Architecture, Engineering and Analytics

  • Data Governance and Management structures

  • Data Quality and cleansing

  • Data Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tools and practices

  • Enterprise Cloud Provider: Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle

  • Cloud based Collaborative Platform Solutions

  • Agile (strategy, transformation, or operating model)

  • System/Software Development Lifecycle (Dev, Test, Stage, Production)

  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) implementation experience

  • DevSecOps design/deployment/management experience

  • Broad, diverse experience and knowledge of major technologies (legacy to emerging)

  • Ability to work on site at customer location 3 days per week (T, W, Th)

  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance, with the continued ability to obtain TS/SCI

Bonus points for...

  • Bachelors in IT, Computer Systems, or equivalent technologies/experience

  • Professional Certifications (Sec+, CISSP, PMP, AWS, Azure, etc.)

  • 3+ years of contributions to Cloud/Enterprise IT/Application development or deployment

  • 5+ years of experience in supporting one or more of the following areas:

  • AI/ML/Data Strategy Implementation or Development

  • Cloud/Enterprise IT Strategy Planning, Implementation, or Development

  • Application/Technology Innovation and Ecosystems Implementation or Development

  • Cloud Infrastructure Implementation or Development

  • 3+ years of experience supporting the functional analysis of technology solutions

  • TS/SCI highly desired

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
