Description

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager- Technical to build and drive our Print on Demand International Expansion strategy, allowing authors and publishers to reach more readers in new marketplaces. As a Principal Product Manager – Tech, you'll be an individual contributor who works backwards from our customers and owns the long-term strategy and product vision for when and where we expand next, as well as executing on the plan you set.

You’ll be responsible for leading global, cross-functional teams to deliver on your product roadmap looking around corners, mitigating risks, and effectively escalating to unblock delivery. You’ll drive trade-off decisions between customer benefit and complexity and use data and anecdotes to craft crisp, compelling, and well-reasoned documents to drive strategic alignment with senior leaders and communicate measurable results. You’ll create and use mechanisms to progress your roadmap, including updates to senior leaders, partners, and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have excellent product, problem solving and communication skills and be able to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels, by deeply understanding customer needs, and then aligning teams towards coherent technology and business strategies. The candidate will be at ease dealing with ambiguity, have strong attention to detail, be motivated by a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable thinking big and diving deep. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives while staying on top of tactical execution, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience technical product management

  • 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes, and challenge conventional wisdom.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
