We’re seeking a Mechanical Engineer TS/SCI (security clearance required) to join our team in Arlington, VA.

You’ll have the opportunity to use your experience in the industry and apply it to solving today’s

challenges. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions

to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide by providing a range. You’ll be responsible for leading the

mechanical design (HVAC and plumbing) on federal client projects and providing system design

calculations and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades

(architectural and engineering). You’ll also take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness

of the work assigned to you by demonstrating the ability to progress from basic design work assignments

to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

At Jacobs, our Mechanical Engineers design HVAC, plumbing, and other building mechanical systems for

government and institutional owners. Our engineers see a variety of project types and sizes in

geographies across the globe. Typical duties include these:

• Assisting in proposal development by estimating labor hours and developing technical delivery

approaches.

• Performing site surveys, existing facility assessments, client interviews, and initial project charrettes.

• Developing design calculations, drawings, and specifications, including regular coordination with other

design disciplines.

• Reviewing construction submittals and providing other assistance during the construction phase of a

project.

• Communicating regularly with the entire project team, from project inception to closeout, to maintain

alignment of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering 

• At least 5 years relevant professional experience for buildings-related design projects

• Professional Engineer (PE)

• Proficiency in Revit, 3D CADD

• United States Citizenship

• active TS/SCI Clearance is required.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have: 

• Federal including DoD, Federal Civilian and/or Defense Contractor project experience

• CI polygraph
