U.S. Marshals Service IT Program Manager in Arlington, Virginia

Summary This position is located in Information Technology Division- Arlington, VA. The selectee of this position serves as an IT Program Manager. You will be responsible for managing and directing major United States Marshals (USMS) information technology projects, and the full range of evaluation, design, training and implementation of application systems. Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-2210-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: Basic Requirement: You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement described above, you must have the Specialized Experience described below. Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Implementing IT enterprise architecture plans that address mission-critical program objectives; Assisting with managing and directing IT projects consistent with industry standards; Analyzing business requirements to develop IT solutions; AND Providing technical advice and assistance on IT programs to users and management. Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, however the incumbent is required to lift and move computer equipment that may weigh up to 25 pounds. Quality Ranking Factor (QRF): A certification demonstrating technical competence is expected to significantly enhance performance in this position but is not essential for satisfactory performance. If you hold Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification you may be ranked above those who do not, but no one will be rated ineligible solely for not holding PMP certification.
