ARPA-H – Senior Travel Support Specialist
Amentum is looking for experienced personnel to expand our healthcare technology development support capabilities at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H).
Founded in 2022, ARPA-H is a Federal research funding agency that supports transformative biomedical and health breakthroughs – ranging from the molecular to the societal – to provide health solutions for all. ARPA-H advances high-potential, high-impact biomedical and health research that cannot be readily accomplished through traditional research or commercial activity to develop solutions to society's most challenging health problems.
We are interested in individuals who have experience supporting executive-level Government personnel at a federal or state agency. Senior travel specialists will provide travel support to the Division of Mission and Administrative Resources and Support (MARS), regularly interacting with Government leadership - i.e. Office Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors for Program Management (ADPM), Program Analysts (PA), and technical Program Managers (PMs) - to coordinate official travel related to technology development programs.
Responsibilities will include:
Coordinating travel for Government personnel and preparing all associated travel documents in accordance with ARPA-H guidelines using the ARPA-H Travel System
Preparing and reviewing manually and electronically generated travel authorizations and vouchers
Providing travel help desk support, applying knowledge of and experience in applying Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) travel policies, Federal Travel Regulation (FTR), and HHS Financial Management Regulations (FMR)
Providing expertise in researching and interpreting the FTR; Travel System Operations / Help Desk / Training
Administering the Government Travel Credit Card (GTCC) program in accordance with HHS Financial Management Regulations (FMR)
Processing passport / visa applications
Researching the Foreign Clearance Guide (FCG); Commercial Ticketing Office (CTO) operations, and use of GSA City Pair airfare rates
Processing permanent change of station (PCS) travel authorizations and vouchers
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in any field
At least ten (10) years relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in HHS travel policies, the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR), HHS Financial Management Regulations (FMR), and Travel Systems Operations
Demonstrated knowledge of the Government Travel Credit Card (GTCC) program
Demonstrated experience processing passport/visa applications
Familiarity with the Foreign Clearance Guide (FCG); Commercial Ticketing Office (CTO) operations and use of GSA City Pair airfare rates; processing permanent change of station (PCS) travel authorizations and vouchers
The demonstrated professionalism, maturity, sound judgement, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for daily interactions with executive-level audiences in a dynamic, high-visibility work environment
Ability to work independently or in a team setting as circumstances dictate
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust US Government Clearance
Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Highly Desired Attributes:
ARPA-H experience
Other ARPA agency (DARPA, IARPA, ARPA-E, etc.) experience
National Institute of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), or Department of Defense (DoD) experience
Experience in a R&D environment
The ARPA-H campus is located on McPherson Square in Washington DC. Hybrid and telework options are likely but residence within Washington, DC metropolitan area is desired.
