Maintenance Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location: Arlington, TX
Salary: Starting at $78k, dependent upon experience

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership, optimize maintenance operations, and ensure equipment reliability within our facility. This role requires in-depth expertise in maintenance best practices, troubleshooting, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The SME will serve as a key resource for the maintenance team, driving efficiency, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise & Support
Serve as the primary expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex maintenance issues.
Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
Support root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Process Optimization
Analyze maintenance workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
Recommend and integrate industry best practices for asset management and reliability.
Oversee spare parts inventory management to ensure availability without excess costs.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA, ISO 45001, and industry safety regulations.
Develop and enforce maintenance procedures in line with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 55001 standards.
Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to improve workplace safety.
Training & Mentorship
Provide hands-on training and mentorship to maintenance personnel.
Develop training materials, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and best practice guidelines.
Guide technicians in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and equipment optimization techniques.
Reliability Engineering & Continuous Improvement
Utilize Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) .
Implement Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) and predictive maintenance technologies.
Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance equipment design and maintainability.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTTR, MTBF, and OEE to drive improvements.
Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and downtime trends.
Recommend capital investments for long-term reliability and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Maintenance Engineering (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or asset management within manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or industrial facilities.
Technical Skills
Expertise in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) .
Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis).
Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics .
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Six Sigma principles.
Soft Skills
Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently .
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities for training and mentoring teams.
Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and safety teams.
Work Environment:
Industrial or manufacturing facility setting with hands-on involvement in maintenance activities.
Occasional travel required for audits, training, and implementation of best practices.
