Director of Finance – Heart and Vascular Hospital

  • Core work hours: Full Time (40 Hours); Day Shift 8:00a-5:00p

Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital is an independently licensed hospital located on the campus of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital. We are a 47-bed facility including a 20 bed Cardiovascular ICU and a 27-bed cardiac telemetry unit.

Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital is accredited for Chest Pain through The Joint Commission. We have achieved AHA’s Gold Plus award for three years in a row plus AHA’s Gold Plus award for Heart Failure.

We specialize in CABG and Valve surgeries, thoracotomies, general cardiac including heart failure, cardiomyopathies, AMI, TAVR, Impella, and heart catheterizations including angioplasty, stenting, and electrophysiology studies. We operate in a team-based environment with a cardiac focus. We boast excellent patient and staff satisfaction results have an amazing collaborative culture within all departments.

Job Description

Develops a comprehensive financial program and provides financial consulting, education, training and interpretation of financial information to the Board of Manager, senior management and department managers. Prepares monthly financials. Reviews financials for accuracy.

Performs financial duties. by overseeing monthly close and reconciliation process, as well as demonstrates an understanding of the finance department processes and how they impact operations.

Prepares the Operating and Capital Budget and Three/Five/Year Financial Plan. Coordinates the input and prioritization of the capital needs of the hospital. Coordinates with the THAM budget manager to maintain the budget systems. Maintains and coordinates with the THAM Decision Support staff to upload the final approved budget into the TSI Decision Support system

Maintains the appropriate internal control structure of the hospital's assets. Actively participates on various hospital and user groups, task forces and work groups to achieve company goals through continuous quality improvement. These groups may include: Revenue Cycle Process, Joint Commission, Compliance Review, HIM, Stockamp Review Committee, Staffing, and Physician Steering Committees.

Oversees responsibility for Revenue Cycle, Billing Compliance, Strategic Planning, Budgeting, Finance/Accounting, Medical Staff Services, Business Operations, and HIM.

Coordinates with outside banking institution to monitor debt and line of credit. Coordinate and review employee transfer/benefit negotiation and the negotiation of supply contracts.

Education

Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance or related field Required

Experience

5 Years increasingly responsible management and leadership experience in a healthcare or related organization Required

Supervisory or Managerial Experience Strongly Preferred

Hospital Experience Strongly Preferred

Skills

Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, strong numerical aptitude, verbal and written communication skills. Accounting/Finance, Patient Access, HIM, Medical Staff, Material Management.
