Job Summary

To provide advanced professional knowledge, advice and counseling regarding student admission. Execute duties daily to assist the department in reaching university enrollment goals and contribute to student success. Responsible for the recruitment of new students, including performing activities that will generate prospects, applicants, and new student enrollment. Build professional connections with school counselors and educational partners that promote UTA and a college bound message. Serve as a professional liaison for students and families as they navigate the admission process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages a geographical territory for the purpose of recruiting new freshman students for enrollment at UTA.

  • Builds relationships with the school counselors, students and families within that region and serves as a direct liaison between the students and the campus.

  • Travels to high schools, colleges, and other learning institutions to publicize and promote admission requirements and procedures of UTA.

  • Travel can consist of overnight stays and the necessity to plan and book personal travel accommodation within the parameters of state approved guidelines.

  • Provides information to prospective students and parents on specific educational opportunities of the University, both on and off the campus.

  • Counsel’s students and parents on admission, financial aid processes and enrollment steps.

  • Answers questions of a complex nature regarding the University’s admissions policies, degree offerings, and campus opportunities.

  • Replies to phone calls, correspondence and e-mail from prospective students, their family members and/or other educational partners.

  • Prepares professional, thorough correspondence in response to inquiries submitted to the office or the staff member.

  • Review’s student applications for admission and counsel’s applicants regarding their eligibility status.

  • Develops and nurtures relationships with community partners, strengthening connection and providing outstanding service to each.

  • Assists in the planning and implementation of all recruitment functions, events, and activities.

  • Provides written updates of admission funnel progress pertaining to assigned territory and tracks progress to stated goals.

  • Keeps university enrollment goals as the focus of all recruitment activities and maintains current metrics to measure success and progress toward stated goals.

  • Assists with events, both on and off campus, as well as virtual events.

  • Provide support to co-workers as needed to assist the entire university in reaching enrollment goals.

  • Assists other areas/departments on campus with recruitment efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Extremely accurate admission and transfer evaluations are required.

  • May require frequent travel for recruiting purposes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience counseling students in academic and scholastic matters, with a broad knowledge of institutional admission requirements or the equivalent experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.

  • Detail Oriented.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to multitask in a busy office environment with multiple interruptions, including high volume phone calls and monitoring multiple email accounts.

  • Work well both independently and within a team environment.

  • Ability and knowledge to use standard office equipment.
